Cataracts

Cataracts can affect the vision of people of all ages, but particularly for those later in life. It is a clouding of the lens in the middle of your eye and generally causes blurriness or hazy vision, similar to “looking out through a dirty windscreen” as well as becoming more light and glare sensitive. The vision can usually be improved with prescription glasses, sunglasses and/or contact lenses.

When the cataract is more mature or beginning to impact on your quality of life is when cataract surgery is recommended with an ophthalmologist.
