A new way to see the world, contact lenses that help correct all types of vision

Just a recap of what this means. 

• Long-sightedness is when you are able to see things clearly in the distance but up close is harder to focus. It means that light is focused by the cornea (front of eye) behind the retina (back of the eye)
• Short-sightedness is when things further away are not as clear or sharp, but up close is comfortable and in focus. Light is focused by the cornea, in front of the retina
• Astigmatism is when the cornea is irregular in curvature, causing a splitting of light rays when focusing onto the retina. Thus your vision is slightly blurry, fuzzy or distorted at all distances both near and far but particularly noticeable at night time with headlights or traffic lights having a flare or halo effect
• Presbyopia is age-related changes that cause the lens in the eye to stiffen and therefore make it harder to focus up close. It is the classic “arms are too short” problem, where you have to push things further away to read a book, ingredients or instructions on a packet or your phone. This generally starts to affect people 40 years and older.

Glasses obviously can correct all of these different types of visual issues separately or all at the same time, and now there is a new contact lens that is able to correct either long/short-sightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia all together.
